Fall Favorites

Fall, a lost season in many parts of the world. But places like Buffalo, NY get to experience the upper echelon of the season in mother natures greatest glory.

Here's a collection of my fall favorites that help me focus on what's important in life.

Slow Down

Before the fiercely vibrant colors fade to grey take time to enjoy the unique gifts mother nature gives us at the price of being alive. I try to take advantage of every sunny day that I can get outside and admire the serenity of the fall foliage.

Here are some music videos I made during the fall that showcase Buffalo in her prime.

Snuggle Season

Sunny days become a rarity as rain storms roll through and temperatures drop. In Buffalo it's not unusual for the temperature to drop 30 degrees in one day. Time to embrace the cold by grabbing my favorite soft blanket, a warm drink by the fireplace and rocking my favorite tunes. I'll even use the record player when feeling extra nostalgic.

Let this relaxing tune covered by yours truly inspire you this fall.

Strolling Along

Possibly my favorite thing to do during the fall is taking walks with my husband. This year we explored Chestnut Ridge Park. It's one of the largest parks in the country with hiking trails and plenty of roads to go cruising. We would have explored a hiking trail to the eternal flame (a naturally gas lit flame inside a waterfall) but we decided to stick to the roads because of the mud from recent storms. The fire pit in the visitors lodge kept us warm while we admired the breathtaking view of our Queen city.

Hot Date

This short sliver in time calls for extra dates to get outside and enjoy the fall festivities to heat things up. I crossed off a few of these fall activities suggested by writer Francesca Bond's article.

Darkness

Fight the time change and gloomy days by getting the adrenaline going. This time of year I shamelessly binge watch my favorite scary movies and programs. My all time favorite scary movie is The Shining. This fall my hubby and I binge watched The Haunting Of Hill House in three days. I highly recommend this netflix program if you're a fan of ghosts!

Speaking of ghosts... Sundress Covers Episode Nine features my twist of the song If I Die Young.

Spices

These days there's pumpkin flavored everything and plenty of reasons to try spiced hard cider and pumpkin beer from local micro breweries and coffee shops.

Football

Perhaps it's the cheerleader in me. My favorite sport and a big part of the American culture is rooting for your favorite football team. I'm a Bills fan through marriage (and because my childhood team decided to break up with my city on facebook- thanks Spanos). Bills might not have the best track record when it comes to winning but they won my heart with their tailgating. Some of the best tailgating in the country is in the bills mafia territory. So, grab your folding table and be prepared to see some streakers, some might even run more yards than the players. Go Bills!

Holiday Kick Off

More than just footballs kick off this time of year. Holiday season is upon us. From Halloween to Christmas there's plenty of music to serenade us during the hustle and bustle. Don't loose sight on the true reasons to celebrate the holidays and embrace the joy from the ones we love.

Fall Flashback

It's time to bring the party indoors to beat the cold weather. This time of year brings many joyous events. One of my favorite annual parties is my Halloween Recital with my talented music students. To take the edge off I let my students dress up in their Halloween costume to perform their favorite piano songs we learned this season. Last year our Halloween recital happened to fall on sweetest day, truly the sweetest concert for all.
