Our Fate Day
Being from San Diego, I wasn't an avid snow driver. I thought the snow was pretty to look at but managed to wreck my car
within my first month of winter in Buffalo. I downgraded
from a Lexus to a used Ford Escort that was infested
with spiders during the summer months.

It was groundhog day when the stars aligned for my soulmate and I to cross paths. A potential storm watch was on alert but it was eerily calm. I pulled up to a bowling ally anxious to hop out of the car to meet a friend when I suddenly slammed my door into the car next to me. I had completely forgotten my doors weren't heavy anymore in my new P.O.S car. I left a pretty nice dent.
Even though it was small I'm still a firm believer in karma and doing the right thing... at least trying.
Begrudgingly I used my friends business card to write a note that I left flapping in the wind under the windshield blade, saying I'm sorry I dinged your door. It was windy. Signed with my number. I walked away secretly hoping no one would never call because I had no idea how I could afford to fix it.

A few weeks went by and out of the blue I got a phone call. It was a guy with a cute voice explaining that he got this note from me on his windshield and I had dinged his door. Yup, that's me! Sorry about that! He then went on to explain about how I didn't need to worry about fixing it, that it was only the size of a Chinese checker and he could fix it himself. I thought it was so nice of him to not take advantage of me. We carried on with our conversation and discovered that we're both music teachers and hip-hop recording artists. I was so happy to finally meet someone in this new place I now call home that makes hip-hop music! We decided to have a "networking meeting."
Our First Date
We met at Elmwood Spot Coffee on a cold wintery night a few weeks later to network and talk about our music. We ended up talking for hours and migrated across the street for dinner. I offered MC ZiLL a verse on my song that I was currently recording, Strong Am I. It turns out the song held a special place in ZiLL's heart because at the time his Grandma was in the hospital. He could relate to the message of the song. Stay strong and tell yourself it will be alright. It's what his Grandma use to always tell him growing up.
Quickly a long time friendship was forming between the two of us based on our connection and love for music. ZiLL and I spent many hours writing music in his basement recording studio. I found it to be a safe place that allowed me to creatively think.
Our new found friendship was tested when we were chastised by some people at the church I was playing in the band at. These people judged our special friendship and said I shouldn't be hanging out with a guy, drinking wine and making music unless I plan on marrying him. Is this a joke? I get the no sex thing, but not even Jesus juice or music!? Come on, can't people just be friends? It's a funny thing my husband and I reflect on today because these people judged us without knowing what God truly had intended for us because we ended up being soulmates!
Over a year of friendship had gone by, the light switch clicked for me and I fell in love with MC ZiLL on my golden birthday. Spring had sprung and I felt lonely without any birthday plans so I called ZiLL and asked him if he would join me for mimosas. Bottomless mimosas. He dropped everything to come spend the day with me. It was then that I realized the depth and value of our friendship as I allowed myself to open up and trust him. Through deep conversation and time we allowed ourselves to fully open and trust each other with our intentions.
Inseparable Ever Since
We started doing everything together, sharing everything, and over coming things together. From cat allergies to music tours we lived our lives to the fullest and supported our journey together. Writing music that makes a difference in our community and over coming loss together. Before we knew it we were engaged and planning a wedding.
What a difference inspired creative minds make when there's two. Being in a relationship didn't make me loose focus on my music, like I feared, instead it sparked more creativity and ability. We found that working together we could help each other write the songs we visioned and explore new horizons.
There's a special energy people say they feel when they see us perform on stage together. Being on stage with my soulmate allows me to shed a veil of nervousness and feel more comfortable with the audience.
Wedding Music
Since brides don't already have enough to do when planning a wedding I decided to compose the music for our wedding ceremony.

My husband and I were married August 7th, 2016 in Buffalo, NY at the Avanti Mansion with beloved family and friends.
Inspirational Honeymoon
We were blessed enough to spend our honeymoon in Italy. Positano is a cliffside town on the on the Amalfi Coast that we fell in love with. Inspired, we wrote our song Positano the minute we got home from our honeymoon.
A Wedding Present
Our longtime videographer and friend, Jacob Payne, gifted us with this music video for our song Show Love featuring footage from our sacred wedding day.
Teamwork is the dreamwork and there's truly nothing better than that in a marriage. My marriage is the most precious gift I cherish in my life. I'm so thankful to have my soulmate to share our lifelong journey with as we grow together through all the seasons, good and difficult. It was worth the wait, even the trials and tribulations I experienced during my single life. All my decisions accumulated leading me to that fateful night when I hit my husbands car and became connected in more ways than one single dent can imagine. Our mistakes can become our greatest accomplishments.
Think about how amazing it can be the next time you fail. Live fearlessly in love.
